On March 12, 2023, Aura of Karma made a visit to the Gandhi Museum New Delhi. The museum is located in the bustling heart of the city and serves as a tribute to the life and times of one of India’s most illustrious leaders, Mahatma Gandhi.
Our visit began with a warm welcome from the museum staff, who gave us a brief introduction to the exhibits and the history of the museum. The children were fascinated by the beautiful garden that adorned the entrance, filled with statues and quotes from Gandhi. The serene surroundings instilled a sense of peace and tranquility, which was befitting of Gandhi’s message of nonviolence and harmony.
As we made our way through the museum, the children were awestruck by the various sections dedicated to Gandhi’s life and times. The first section we visited was dedicated to his early life and childhood. The children were surprised to see photographs of Gandhi as a young boy, and they marveled at the simplicity of his upbringing.
The next section we visited was dedicated to Gandhi’s nonviolent resistance movement and his role in India’s struggle for independence. The children were particularly inspired by Gandhi’s message of nonviolence and peaceful resistance, and they were captivated by the various artifacts and displays that showcased his struggle for justice and equality.
The museum also houses a library and research center, which was a highlight of our visit. The children were thrilled to browse through the vast collection of books and manuscripts related to Gandhi and his philosophy. They were particularly impressed by the breadth and depth of the collection, which spanned several languages and covered a wide range of topics related to Gandhi’s life and legacy.
The visit to the Gandhi Museum was a truly enlightening and inspiring experience for the children and for us. It provided a glimpse into the life and times of one of India’s most remarkable leaders, and it instilled in us a sense of awe and admiration for his message of nonviolence and love. The NGO Aura of Karma organized the trip deserves special mention for providing this valuable opportunity to the children, and We hope that many more young minds get to experience this museum in the years to come.
